Our Mission

Design stunning button-pins whose purchase helps students pursue higher education
The problem?

From 1977-2007 the total price of higher education has risen more than inflation and average incomes.

  • 678% increase in education costs (National Center of Education Statistics).

  • 147% increase in inflation (Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis).

  • 413% average wage growth (Social Security Association).

College cost is becoming a "barrier to entry" for prospective college students in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, the United States. To better society, education must be a priority; here at Liv Buttons, it is.

Our plan?

Phase 1: test the idea: are we willing to support businesses striving to benefit communities instead of exclusively profiting?

Phase 2: donate 10% of profits annually to provide scholarships for students locally and in developing countries.

Phase 3: start a foundation, expand the business, and further the message of the social enterprise model.

Anticipated results?

Phase 1: test and validate the business model.

Phase 2: help other students reduce the financial burden of education.

Phase 3: teach others about the business model, spread our message, and increase access to education worldwide.

Support us!

Currently, we are in phase one, testing the idea. All proceeds from the pin sales either go back into the business or go directly towards paying off the founder's student loans. We aim to be radically transparent, therefore our progress, including total sales will be included on the progress page. Help us reach our annual goals!

Our Story

"Liv Buttons was created to test the validity of social entrepreneurship.

Can business only exist to profit? Or, can business be dramatically transformational to a community?

We design pins for a purpose.

Can button-pins be used to raise money for a cause?

These and many others are the questions Liv Buttons is determined to answer. Since April of 2018, my team and I have been searching for a cause to support through the sale of our pins. What better cause than one which I and thousands of my peers face every day, the burden of student debt.

Why not change the narrative of education? Business can be a force for good. That's my hypothesis."
